Known as one of Kenya’s finest artistes whose musical career spans over a decade with memorable hits, David Mathenge aka Nameless was recently in Uganda where he seems to have found a new love.With a beautiful lass starring in his “Butterfly” video, which is shot in Uganda alongside some Ugandan men, Nameless spots the lass who goes ahead to sing and woo in Luganda as it is the only language she understands. During the conversations the lady plays hard to get but eventually becomes his “butterfly”.Some critics, however, felt that the name butterfly seemed too much like a translation of Jaguar’s song Kipepeo which still receives a lot of airplay, with others feeling that Nameless brought a fresh twist to the name “butterfly”.As the song flaunts Nameless’ quest to learn the Luganda language, which he actually does, this music comes across as a strategy to impress and keep his Ugandan fans glued to his music. We can only wait to see how well our Ugandan neighbours shall receive it.Check out the video
