Knoxville, Tennessee. Update on then New Animal Control - TopicsExpress

Knoxville, Tennessee. Update on then New Animal Control Ordinance. Greetings! You may recall that the Knoxville City Council had a new animal control ordinance on the meeting agenda for August 6, 2013. The main purposes were to clarify (i.e., tighten up) Knoxvilles existing pet limit and fix an oddly written heading, but other changes were made to the definition section. The first reading was postponed until January 21 so that Vice-Mayor Pavlis could put together a Blue Ribbon Panel to study the Knoxville AC ordinance, as a whole, in more depth and craft something better. Due to other more pressing issues, no work has been done on the ordinance as of yet. The agenda for next Tuesdays meeting does include a first reading of the original ordinance, as it was written in July/August, but Mr. Pavlis intends to get an additional postponement and start study sessions in the near future. He is receptive to including someone breeder friendly on the panel and asked me to email him some suggestions. That is everything I know at this time. Please feel free to forward this to any parties who were concerned and involved when this ordinance first came up. We dont want anyone feeling needless panic when the situation remains basically status quo. Respectfully, Donna
