Koimoi’s Prediction: Boss Has Possibilities To Collect 100 Cr In 1 Week With the early reports of the film’s opening day collections pouring in, Boss on its 1st day at the box office put up quite a wonderful show. After an insipid performance from Ranbir Kapoor starrer Besharam that was immensely hyped, the good performance of Boss will be quite soothing for the domestic box office. Early trends are pointing towards the 15 crore range business for the film. Being a semi-holiday on the eve of Eid, the film risked releasing mid-week cashing in the half-holiday advantage and banking on Akshay Kumar’s star power, the makers and Kumar himself wouldn’t be entirely disappointed with the collections that have rested in the higher range, emerging as Akshay’s second highest opening ever. Since the film has a good word of the mouth from the audiences so far who are liking the masala entertainer and Akshay’s role, the film on its day 2 will see a normal 30% drop at the box office. The earnings can then settle in the range of 9 crore to 10 crores on both Thursday as well as on Friday. Though Friday could also witness a marginal drop as compared to Thursday given that Besharam merely a week ago witnessed similar fate, however, it would be faulty to compare this with Besharam as the film received a failing reaction from general audiences! Before the start of its 1st weekend, the film should reach the 35 crore mark at least at the box office. On its 1st weekend, the film will see a good growth since it will be the first full fledged holiday that Boss will enjoy. And being the sole release this week, with people giving up on Besharam and Grand Masti wrapping up its run, there is barely any other movie at the theaters to watch. The film can soar up to 23 crore to 25 crores on both Saturday and Sunday. On Monday again the film will witness a heavy drop at the box office given it is a working day. The collections might again settle in the range of 10 crores or even lower but Boss can be expected to remain steady at the single screens for it masala formula and at the multiplexes due to lack of any other release at the box office. If Boss remains stable on Monday and Tuesday at 8 crores minimum, by next Tuesday the film will easily surpass the 100 crore mark. Boss is also faring well in the overseas market. Raking up good income from the Islam-dominated circuits with high expat population like U.A.E and the entire G.C.C as well as Pakistan which saw a good occupancy for Boss on its opening day, the film’s overseas collections can be expected to soar. Hence the film’s worldwide total could be on the heavier side!
