Kolten had a doctors appointment yesterday and now weighs a whopping 16.7 pounds. Thats a 2 pound gain in a little less than a month. I am totally loving all the rolls too. During his cardiologist appointment we were informed that the echo revealed a few thing have changed since surgery. His conduit (the cadaver pulmonary artery) has back flow and is leaking a little. The patch that was put in to close the VSD hole has opened a little and is allowing the blood to mix again. And one of his collaterals (that provide blood to his lungs) is starting to narrow. The plan is to do a cardiac cath at 6 months post op now instead of waiting a year like originally planned. Also he will have a lung perfusion scan next month to check the blood supply to his lungs. Although it all sounds scary, and scares us a little, we trust that the doctors are waiting for the tests because they arent to worried right now. We ask for prayers that his collateral stops narrowing and miraculously reopens, that the hole closes its self again and that the conduit does not leak anymore than it is.
