Kovalev just clearly entered the top ten pound for pound list with his one sided white wash of a legend and legend killer in Hopkins . Many will try to discredit this performance by pointing to Hopkins age as they did years back when Joe Calzaghe beat him . Hopkins then went on to beat an undefeated killer in Kelley Pavlik and win seveal more world titles to discredit the negative people pointing to his age as the reason Calzaghe beat him and discrediting the win . Hopkins is the exception to the age rule more so then any fighter that ever lived and this is a proven fact several times over . He was cleanly beaten by one of the best fighters in the sport whos resume is getting thicker and thicker . Kovalev is on his way to super stardom and had the casual fans taking notice of his fights just like Golovkin and ALvarez . Its wonderfufl to see new blood putting asses in seats , doing big ratings , putting on impressive performances and getting people excited . Anything that is good and positive for the sport I support and Kovalev is great for boxing
