"Kreed took a few moments to calm himself and then he waved the two men back towards the sweatshop. Pete tried to beg off with talk of hunger but Kreed flashed a few five dollar bills and continued to motion Pete and Kevin both back towards a place where he knew he had more pencil stubs and available cardboard to write on. The show of money helped sway the men and soon they were both following Kreed back towards his lair. The body was already pulling this way and that, it was slowing down in its foot dragging shuffle and already showing what Kreed understood were the telltale signs of its peculiar version of hunger. Every day along with its toper like sleep the body seemed to need...what, blood, essence, life? The feeding behavior was still utterly mysterious and it would remain a mystery until Kreed could find a place to examine the body properly. In the meantime it would hardly do for him to lose control and begin maiming and killing the men who sought only to help him."
