Kreeri incident: Teachers’ body demand FIR, transfer of the accused officer : Srinagar, August 09: A Day after a police officer allegedly abused and slapped two senior government school officials in Kreeri area of Baramulla, the teachers’ body have demanded registration of FIR and transfer of the accused officer. On Friday morning, a Dy. SP of police’s Special Operation Group had allegedly slapped and abused vice-principal and a lecturer of Government Higher Secondary Institute Kreeri after entering inside the premises of the school. Though the officer refuted allegations leveled by the school officials, but police ordered an enquiry into the incident and appointed Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Manzoor Ahmad as enquiry officer Meanwhile on Saturday, senior civil and police officials visited the school and met with teachers and assured fair investigation in the matter. The Dy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Farooq Ahmad Lone and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) north Kashmir, Ghulam Hassan Bhat, visited the school and met the teachers. “The DC and DIG assured us that the matter would be fairly investigated and the officer would be found guilty, strict action, as per law, would be taken,” Rafiq Ahmad Rather, who is District president of Teacher’s forum, told Media Persons.. “Although we are satisfied that both DC and DIG visited the school and met us,” Rafiq said, adding: “we presented two demands before the officials.” “First one is that the FIR should be lodged in the case and the second one is that accused officer should be transferred,” he informed.
