(Photo by Planet News Archive/SSPL/Getty Images) In 1930s, Leila Bedirkhan (1908-1986), was the shining star who played an important role in producing Kurdish dance and music to their audience in Europe. She was born in Istanbul and graduated from a German ballet school. In 1925, she started her shows. In 1930, she married a Polish artist. They stayed together in Paris till her death in 1986. She has a daughter, Nevin, who lives in France.
