Kurt Zouma a threat to Omeruo Chelsea future Chelsea capture of Kurt Zouma could well raise questions about the future of Nigeria’s Kenneth Omeruo at the English Premier League side. The top EPL club have handed the highly- rated 19-year-old central defender Zouma a five and a half-year contract. ‘The New John Terry’, whose parents are from Central African Republic, will complete the season on loan at Saint Etienne before he heads to Stamford Bridge next term. Chelsea splashed over 12.5 million Pounds for the France U20 star, who has been tipped by France manager Didier Deschamps to go on to captain the full international team. The all-action defender, who made his Saint Etienne debut in 2011, starred as France won a first-ever FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey in June. Omeruo, on the hand, did not cost ‘The Blues’ a fortune and he has now been shipped on loan to English Championship side Middlesbrough. He is believed to have convinced manager Jose Mourinho in training, but he has yet to make his debut for Middlesbrough despite the high expectations that greeted his transfer. While Zouma has been given a long-term deal, Omeruo’s Chelsea contract will be up in June 2015.
