Kuwait Amendments as regards ozone-depleting substances (ODS), used goods and prohibited imports have been brought to the import documentation for Kuwait. The following changes have been made: Ozone-Depleting Substances (ODS) This overview has been enhanced with information on the implementation of the phase-out schemes for ODS in accordance with the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. In this context, on 1 January 2013, Kuwait initiated the phase-out scheme for hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). For further information, please refer to the section on Ozone-Depleting Substances (ODS) below, which has been newly incorporated in this respect. Second-Hand Articles A paragraph on Used Goods has been added to this overview in order to summarise requirements for merchandise which is imported in other than new condition. Items Banned from Importation Apart from commodities defined in the document entitled Prohibited Imports, which contains those goods defined by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Kuwait General Administration of Customs (KGAC) as items banned from being imported, the newly introduced chapter on Import Prohibitions contains a list of banned goods which may not be brought into the country. Said list comprises items regulated by various authorities, e.g. in respect of health and safety issues in Kuwait
