Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has offered automatic employment into the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Agency (KWARTMA) to a young man, Mr Akindele Opeyemi Taiwo from Ekiti Local Government Area of the state, who has been carrying out voluntary traffic control at Lajorin/Town Planning junction and Offa Road/Flower Garden junction in Ilorin, the State Capital. This positive development ensued along Offa Road/Flower Garden junction when the Governor saw Akindele performing his voluntary traffic control function. Apparently impressed by Akindele’s patriotic zeal, Governor Ahmed halted his convoy which was coming from unscheduled visits to Ministries, Departments and Parastatals to watch the young man in action before directing the State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Dr Abubakar Amuda Kannike to ensure that KWATMA offered Akindele immediate employment and the sum of N100,000 in appreciation of his efforts. “This is the kind of positive disposition we expect from our youths in Kwara State. Our youths must display leadership qualities in all ramifications and instances without expecting rewards. However, such efforts can never go unappreciated as somebody somewhere is definitely watching”, the governor said. Responding, Mr Akindele Opeyemi Taiwo overwhelmed by the governor’s gesture, praised the Governor for his people friendly policies.
