Kyle Bailey I DIDN’T KNOW I didn’t know that a Mother gives her child a part of her heart and while that child is gone, so is that part of her heart…I didn’t know what heartache really was…I didn’t know when you were a baby and your cries would wake me up that when you were 20 my cries would wake me up…I didn’t know that 2 a.m.diaper changes were a blessing and the terrible twos weren’t terrible at all…I didn’t know your toys on the floor andyour bike in the driveway meant there was still a child in my house…I didn’t know your boots in the hallway and keys on the counter meant you were still here and someday I would miss tripping over your boots…I didn’t know I would rather your bedroom be dirty than empty…I didn’t know that there ever would be a time in my life when I couldn’t just pick up the phone just to sayI love you…I didn’t know when you moved out it would hurt so bad…I didn’t know that I would preach to my friends to hug their kids everyday, because I can’t…I didn’t know that as I protected you, someday you would protect me…I didn’t know what worry truly was…I didn’t know how proud I would be…I didn’t know what military families truly gave up…… until now! we are very proud of you with what you have done in your life, but we have missed you very much and counting down the days until you are home
