Kyle, this one’s for you (lol)! DMC men’s softball Tuesday night was, to be sure, a mixed bag. First and foremost, though, both games were filled with good sportsmanship and great camaraderie with the over riding theme of Christian Fellowship from opening prayer by East Flint’s Brett McCall to closing prayer by DMC’s Ray Sturgill! Thanks to all the great fans who came out and braved the chill to root us on, we really appreciate your support! Game one was a slugfest with DMC able to prevail, thanks in large part to Brian “Bomber” Blausey and his grand salami, in less than the proscribed 7 seven innings. East Flint did plenty hitting of their own, but DMC was fortunate enough to be able to outhit them in the long run by a good margin. Game two was the mixed bag part. East Flint got off to a rip roaring start but DMC caught them in the third, passed them in the fourth, fell behind again in the top of the fifth, tied it in the bottom of the fifth, squeaked ahead in the bottom of the sixth and held them off in the top of the seventh for the one run victory, thanks to the mastery of pitcher Ray Sturgill. DMC moved their record to 11 and 1 with two games left before the playoffs. Final two games are against Emmanuel Baptist, Tuesday, June 25th at Calvary West at 6:00pm.
