L&I do not enough staff to monitor construction work places much less monitoring Commercial corridors and remember the disaster of 52nd Street. Those venders made shopping on that business corridor a nightmare, so much so my grandmother stop shopping on 52nd street. And they are NOT GOING TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES! In the 2nd Council District under the leadership of former Councilwoman Anne Verna she banned it on Woodland avenue and it was one of her best policies. We are fighting to make sure it stays that way! Center City has strong over site and quality control over its side walk venders, our community corridors will not share that same oversight. I am stongly against neighborhood curbside vending because I remember how horrible 52nd street use to be.
