#LA City Council Approves Councilmember Parks $50,000 Reward Motion for Information on the Death of Luis Vazquez On July 11, 2014 at approximately 4:48 p.m., 44 year-old Luis Vazquez was sitting on the curb in the 1600 block of West 35th Street when he was approached by a black male who then stabbed him in the neck and fled on foot. Mr. Vazquez was transported to California Hospital, where he died of his wounds. The motive for this crime is unknown, as surveillance video in the area shows no clear evidence of a dispute, and the suspect did not take Mr. Vazquezs wallet or cell phone. The detectives working this case hope that a monetary reward compels members of the public to provide information on this crime.
