LADOJA: AKALA WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPEACHMENT SAGA! #I’ll Contest 2015 Governorship If… ACN/Ajimobi Runs A Dehumanising Govt – Ladoja# Former governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Rashidi Ladoja has given hints about staging a comeback to the Govt House, Agodi, in Ibadan in 2015. He stated that he would run again, if his teeming admirers in the state insisted that he should contest. He reiterated that his current political alliance with his former deputy, who was governor in the last dispensation in the state, Chief Alao-Akala, was for the good of the state and not based on any selfish ulterior motive. Revisiting his impeachment from office as governor in the past, he absolved Alao-Akala from the incident, but instead fingered former President Obasanjo, who he consistently described as his friend of having a hand in the impeachment saga. He said, “Alao-akala is not my enemy; he is my friend and brother. My problem is that I don’t have any enemy. I see politics as a call to service. And I was the first to congratulate the present governor, Abiola Ajimobi after the 2011 governorship election.” He criticised the current style of leadership in the state, which according to him, is not only dehumanising voters but also depriving them of their means of livelihood and shelter. It was his contention that every responsible leader had the responsibility to put a human face to its policies and programmes because the “essence of governance is the happiness and comfort of the people.”
