LAGOS IDENTIFIES WITH “TIMKID AFRICA” ON SAFETY AWARENESS FOR CHILDREN IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS The Director General/CEO, Lagos State Safety Commission, Mrs. Dominga Omolara Odebunmi has applauded TIMKID AFRICA for organizing a Safety Awareness/Sensitization programme for students in the State public secondary schools describing the initiative as laudable. In her remark at the event, which focused on Safety Tips for the prevetion of Kidnapping, Violence, Rape, Abuse and Murder, the Director General said the Commission has always been concerned with the safety of children and as such any programme aimed at School Safety is always supported by the State. While commending TIMKID AFRICA for the initiative and imploring them to keep up the good work, she observed that NGOs are now beginning to take safety issues as a joint task which requires the coming together of everyone in ensuring that safety issues in the society are collectively tackled and solved. Also speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Director, Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement of the Agency, Mrs. Aderonke Odeleye said that the importance of the programme can not be over emphasized since the issues of safety in schools is very relevant in view of what is presently happening in the country. In response, Chief Executive Officer TIMKID AFRICA, Mr. Timothy Babalola stated that his organization planned the event because they wanted to contribute their own quota to the Safety of the children, adding that TIMKID has passion for safety especially for school children. He concluded by expressing his appreciation to Lagos State Safety Commission for encouraging and supporting his NGO in organizing the programme.
