LATEST UPDATE ON QUEST TO SAVE THE HORSES: Joan and I went after - TopicsExpress

LATEST UPDATE ON QUEST TO SAVE THE HORSES: Joan and I went after work to pick up hay from our barn, Gemini Farms. Thanks to Colette Sossaman for donating the hay to take to the horses. We got there and the horse owner, Morris Caro, was there and met us with much hesitation. He was defensive and made excessive excuses as to the health of the horses, stating they were perfectly fine and in better shape than when he bought them some 3 years ago in which he boasted he had bought the black Tennessee Walker mare for only $100.00. He stated these horses were actually in good condition and had even been cleared by an SPCA investigation just a month ago. I offered to take these horses off his hands to find them better homes in which he became irate and tried to order me off the property (which he is not the owner of in the first place). I also offered to feed them the hay, to which he said he wanted me nowhere near his animals and ordered me to stay away from them. While this was going on, Joan was able to videotape the whole incident. Morris threatened me to get off HIS property or he would call the police. I challenged him to do so and the Glenn Heights police officer came. He also called the owner of the property, Don Valk, whom I spoke with earlier today and seemed to know nothing about these horses or their condition. The officer even said that he, himself, had reported this neglect just 4 weeks ago when he drove by and saw the horses in such poor condition. Morris made a lot of ridiculous accusations, trying to justify the so called care of these horses. Folks.... this is the reason we MUST not stop in our attempts in saving these 2 horses. Unfortunately, Morris bragged about the other 23 horses he also has, that are in this same condition, that people have also filed complaints about, which he continues to brush off as being in healthy and good condition. We must stand up against this deplorable ignorance and inhumane treatment of innocent animals. So, I am asking that the fight not stop here, but rather you each continue your efforts in contacting the Dallas County Animal Cruelty officials to bring awareness to this issue as these animals deserve nothing less than a chance at life which is depleting every day they are forced to live in this environment. Please continue to call, email, and share this situation with anyone and everyone you can to help stop the ignorance. We can and will make a difference! Much appreciation and concern, Alisia and Joan
