LATROBES $10,000,000 SPORTS COMPLEX -- Now, heres a sharp YouTube video showing the animated design of Latrobes new sports complex (now finished in fall 2014). This complex nails the coffin shut on Latrobes few draws to its downtown area and to its recreation area, Legion-Keener. The new sports complex will make downtown Latrobe a GHOST TOWN, for sure! Latrobe has 8,300 residents, and Unity Township has 22,000 people. Do 30,000 people need two stadiums? (one in town and one in Unity Township), endless ball fields? (several in town at Legion Keener and a new ball field in the new complex), two running tracks? The School District -- mostly buildings in Unity Township -- will abandon its in town connections and schools sports will cease to take place in downtown Latrobe. Great! Yet another community goal that works against Latrobes Revitalization.
