LCSAR helping other SAR agencies to train: Id like to thank the LCSAR rescue group for helping to make our SARDOC weekend a success. Allen W., Jacob M., Ethan C., Sandy J., Sarah B., Todd W., Mike, E., Jose N. & Joel (SORT) assisted with setup and operation of the highlines station. Did I forget anyone?! I got MANY wonderful comments about the LCSAR members and their willingness to spend all day in Red Feather to get 30+ dogs through the station. It was awesome to see the learning progression that went on throughout the day. By the afternoon the rescue members were teaching the handlers how to help their dogs through the process, it seems we all learned a lot! Your commitment was universally recognized and appreciated by the entire SARDOC team. Also, a huge thanks to Ethan Costain and Mike Erickson for running the canine medical scenarios station and to Ethan for presenting on his VETS project in the evening. In addition to sharing his knowledge and skills with the dog group, Ethan arranged to have a veterinarian and vet tech on-site for the day which was an invaluable resource. We had an emergency involving a 13-week old SAR puppy who accidentally swallowed part of his lead. Dr. Van Meter was there to handle the urgent situation, saving him from emergency surgery! Marcia McMahon, our current SARDOC Coordinator, sends her thanks to Ethan and the LCSAR Rescue team. You guys truly are AWESOME! I am attaching a few select photos from the highlines station, enjoy!
