LEADERS ARE CALLED 11: Another name for a leader is, a frontrunner, a spearhead, a traiblazer, a ground breaker, a forerunner, etc. The word Leader is a noun. It is a noun personified taking the place of a person. Therefore, a leader is the one who guides or inspires others. A leader sometimes can lead people (others) astray (Isaiah 9:16). But it is our portion that we lead others aright in Jesus name. The Lord alone can lead and lead without blame or shortcomings. If we invite Him in our leadership and all that we do, we become extra-ordinary leaders (Psalm 23:2; Psalm 23:3; Isaiah 48:17). A leader is a sherpherd and God is the one who can make you one (Isaiah 55:4). The sheep do not only belong to the Sherpherd but hear his voice (John 10:3). In leadership, there are people you are sent to sherpherd. They here your voice and even your signs they recognise them. If there are people who dont hear neither recognise your voice, it then mean there is an error. First, may be you are not sent to lead them or perhaps, there is something you are doing that piss them off. Leadership is a very sensitive thing, it can mare the good people God gave you to lead or can repel even the bad ones . Its all about descernment and wisdom to know what to do. There was never any qualification for your acceptance or approval as a leader. God accepted and approved you as a leader before you were born. That was why He told Jeremiah, I knew you before you were born and I appointed you a prophet to all nations. God chose you before creation and appoited you a leader. It doesnt matter what anybody says. It doesnt matter how many are against you and talking you down with their inceasant reporting, lies, etc. Jesus was blessed and accepted by God because of who He was, not because of what He did. Many leaders assume that performance is the means to acceptance. They are driven to earn respect from others, to impress others, to gain the applause and approval of others. And they easily transfer it over to their relationship with God by thinking they are to earn His love and acceptance, too. Leaders are leaders not by performance but by Grace of God. If God accepted you on the basis of Grace, He expects that you extend that kindness to others, when we do this, we glorify God (Romans 15:7). Leaders have a great deal of influence on how others are treated. Leaders should use that influence positively to accept others for who they are as people. Welcome others in the spirit of Christ, not because of position, prestige, power, or personal gain that may come your way. Leaders should not only welcome already made people, they should welcome others and mode them through transformation into leadership. David modeled this acceptance of others as he was fleeing from saul. As a developing leader, David learnt that it wasnt simply a matter of getting the best people, but of bringing out the best in the people God brought to him (1 Samuel 22:2). Today, somepeople are very thankful to all the Davids that have used to bring out the best in them. They very very grateful to God for the transformation knowing that God is not a God of abandoned project. Therefore, as they set to answer the call of God, God will accomplish the good thing He has started in their lives. PRAYER: God thank you for what you are doing in my life. Thank you for your plan for my life, for chosing me to be a leader. I invite you into my leadership. Help me to accomplish all that you want me to do in Jesus name, Amen.
