LEADERSHIP LESSONS FROM MY FATHER Luyanda Mzimasi Mtimka aka Zet 1. Secure leaders empower their subordinates - my dad would pour paraffin or amasi for customers and ask me to stand at the till and collect the bucks (this is something our granddad did two. He would cook nice meat while we worked in the farm fetching wood, removing stones from the ploughing fields or harvesting maize, peas or beans) 2. There is more to life than making money - Dads bakkie was a communal ambulance, a taxi, or even police van at times as he would be called by different families to help out with law and order. 5. A man must never be found wanting - PROVIDE CHAP - I do not recall a time when itimer was called upon to meet a family responsibility and wayeteketa 6.
