LEANING TOWARDS A MESS: Just about every model we look at has - TopicsExpress

LEANING TOWARDS A MESS: Just about every model we look at has some kind of precipitation arriving Wednesday night and lasting through Thursday. Question are: the exact track, how long cold air can last, and who gets what kind of precip. Right now this does NOT look like just a snow or rain storm. Once again after looking at everything this morning, and awaiting the new morning runs which arrive on either side of noon, I am seeing mixing issues in the atmosphere. For a VERY early call I would say snow to start for most, but then warm air again floods in at the middle to upper levels especially NJ DE and I-95. This is a coastal storm that sends winds off the Atlantic, plus a lack of Arctic air leading up to the event. The track of the storm will determine how much warmth arrives. Someone in the area, as of right now and this will change, will see mostly snow, others a lot of ice again, and rain for some too. VERY tricky storm at its early stages, but it does have the potential to be bigger than this past ice/rain storm. Fingers crossed it only gives us a glancing brush...we dont need anymore snow or ice. I think I speak for those who had no power for 2-5 days (me included). I felt your freezing pain.
