LESS THAN 48 HRS TO REQUEST AN AUDITION FOR VMFAs TEEN TALENT EVENT! The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is seeking talented teens interested in showcasing their creativity in spoken word, monologue, song, dance, film, and more (if you have a talent that we forgot, tell us about it)! Inspired by the special exhibition Posing Beauty in African American Culture, teens are invited to respond to the three themes repeated throughout the exhibition: beauty (or the perception thereof), body, and image. On May 16, 2014, teens present their works at Teen Talent: Beauty, Body, and Image in VMFA’s Leslie Cheek Theater. Awards are based on audience choice and include, but are not limited to, Apple products, a flip camera, and gift certificates to the VMFA Shop. The evening will also include a special exhibition curated “for teens, by teens” and refreshments for all! Student Participation Auditions are required and are open to all students in grades 6 – 12. Performance groups and individual performers are eligible. Schedule: Audition requests must be submitted before 5 pm on Fri, Apr 11, 2014 (audition times below) Performers or performance groups should email their chosen audition date to Jessica Bauserman: [email protected] Auditions (participants must audition at one of the following times): Sat, Apr 19, 2 – 4 pm Sat, Apr 26, 11 am – 2 pm Auditions will take place on a first come, first served basis.
