LESSON OF THE DAY: Mat 6:8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him (NIV). Beloved, may you abide in divine provision! Amen. In our quest for a deeper relationship with the lord, Jesus exhorts us to careful of whos example we imitate or whose actions we allow to influence us. In the verses preceeding the opening text, Jesus warns against the show of our religious acts and babbling of many words in prayer. The good shepherd is not saying we should not make long prayers but rather that we ensure our interaction with God is not reduced to mere repetition of words as if God is wearing hearing aids. Recognise also that: 1. God has full knowledge of what you need!; on any day thats what He will supply; dont go forcing your wants on him and end up frustrating your faith. 2. God wants us to come into prayer with a confident reassurance of faith in his provision such that we wouldnt have to resort to gymnastics and antics to relate with him or impress him.
