LESSONS FROM THE EAGLE! STIR THE NEST!! One bird that fascinates me as an upwardly mobile young man, a lover of animals and most importantly, a realistic, stern and pragmatic Christian is the Eagle and I want everyone fortunate enough to read this piece to learn from its lifestyle. 1. The Eagle has a clear vision! One prominent source of failure in life is the lack of vision. The man without the physical eyes is only physically impaired, the truly blind is the man without a vision. When a man has no vision, everywhere looks like his destination! He runs a rat race to nowhere and ends up a rat! The eyes is to sight what the mind is to vision! Your vision is the mental picture of your future. The mind sees faster, clearer and quicker than the physical eyes. The Eagle has the clear vision to spot its destination and attain it and spot its prey and attack it from afar! Be an Eagle and get hold of your success! 2. The Eagle renews its strength by shedding its feathers and growing new ones! There are so many bad habits, restrictive ills, old nature and friends you must shed away If you are willing to go far in life! There are some sweet residues you must spew out of your life If you crave the greatness of the Eagle! No matter how sweet the sugar cane is, no one swallows the chaff! You must shed those discomforting feathers of destiny inhibition if you crave advancement in life! 3. The Eagle looks up to The Sun which is God for healing! No medical Doctor treats the Eagle when its indisposed! It looks up to the Sun of righteousness and gets energy for revitalisation similar to photosynthesis from the sunlight and its strength is totally renewed! Trust totally without reliance on self-help or deputy treatment from lifes medical practitioners and you will be made whole! Be an Eagle and your strength will be renewed! 4. The Eagle is a predator and not a prey! To survive in this jungle called the earth, you cant afford to be a prey but a predator! Have you ever wondered why all wild animals are mostly predators? Have you ever wondered why the violent Lion, a predator is made the King of the jungle and not the peaceful sheep or the mild goat (preys)? Its because the strong perpetually rules over the weak! Even the Scriptures alluded to this axiom and gave it a divine imprimatur when it asseverated that the Kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent takes it by force! If you observe the myriads of nomenclature given to Christ and Christians, you will discover that we were not designed to be preys but predators! Eagles and Lions! The moment our Lord Jesus Christ was called a lamb, the world got hold of Him and led Him like a sheep to the slaughter! In this life, you either kill like the Eagle or be killed like a chicken! There is no third option! No sitting on the median fence!! No intermediate class!!! 5. The Eagle is a soaring bird and it never befriends walking birds! Not every bird can fly! Eagles dont marry pigeons, it eats them! Eagles dont make friends with parrots and doves- they will slow it down as they dont fly at the same altitude and frequency! It is not every mobile person that is going somewhere! Not all friends will profit your destiny, do away with them! Dont make a hen your friend if you are an Eagle! There are so many people on your journey in life who have motion and speed but no direction! Associate yourself with people of quality If you aspire to be great in life! Dont befriend destiny killers, professional discouragers and doubt-donors! When your friends share their fears with you, be an Eagle and share your unshaking faith with them! Ask yourself whenever you intend to befriend or date: Is this fellow a vector or a scalar quantity? 6. Eagles stir its nest to make its Eaglets uncomfortable so they can fly, soar and become successful Eagles! Perhaps this is the most important lesson of them all. In fact, this is the major object of this post! I really wish every parent can learn this from the mother Eagle, there would be no failure in life! The mother Eagle dotes over its suckling infants and lets it grow gradually into maturity. It goes out daily to hunt down fresh games and pluck fresh fruits for the Eaglets to eat just like human beings do for their children. The difference however lies in the fact that the Eagle knows when to stop. It patiently watches out for the emergence of the feathers on the little wings of the Eaglets. Once it appears, it returns home to its nest to the dismay and shock of its food-expectant eaglets without food! It stirs the nest and makes the once comfortable home to be uncomfortable for the Eaglets, pierce their body, so they can go out and fend for themselves! It starves them so they can develop the mental capacity to seek for food! It rattles and unsettles their homes so they can maximise their full potentials! It guides the little Eaglet out of the nest and watches it closely in case its strength fails midway so it can help it back to the nest safely! The Eagle repeats this process till the Eaglet becomes an Eagle and it can go on a hunting expedition on its own! Sometimes, God lets us face pain and discomfort so we can soar like the Eagle, realise we have wings and achieve greatness! No matter how discomfited, pained and distressed we are, we must remember that God is close by watching closely to help us up when our strength totally fails! Moreover, the stronger the storm, the more experienced the Sailor becomes! In the chilly atmosphere of excessive comfort, the brain of innovation, economic discovery and career advancement is frozen! When you leave your children in their comfort zones and let them waste away without taking risks, they end up working for those who do! When you feed a grown up child, his brain and mind become lazy and blind and his brain becomes incapable of making money! The starved is the most mentally alert! Need precedes discovery, hunger precedes innovation! The one who has never suffered is not truly wise! The one who is not drenched by the rain or drained by the sunshine will be beaten to death by poverty! Living a packaged life is a prime ingredient for destiny disaster! You educate your kids, help them pass their exams through fair and foul means, feed them, spoon-feed them, look for job for them, help them do the job, marry wives for them, bankroll their wedding ceremony expenses, let them drive your cars, house them and their wives, christen their child, clothe them, buy pampers for their children, help settle their bills and domestic quarrel such that the only thing original to them is their name, haba! How can they grow and become great in life? Hear me parent, If your parents did all these for you, would you have been able to afford to do these for your children? The answer is NO! Even God allowed Jesus out of His territory to die and save humanity! A little discomfort does not kill! Let your children slug it out and face the real world! Dont raise a Turkey, grow an Eagle! This world is a jungle, you cant afford to raise a prey! Dont leave this earth a surplusage to requirement but a meaningful addition and a plausible solution to their generation. Make your children successful giants and not failing dwarfs. Dont nurture dummies and puppets! Any child who inherits wealth without sweat will lose the wealth to smart, hard-working, life-facing, brain-tasking kids who have been left to make wealth from their own sweat! Stir the nest! Let your children go! They wont die! You have failed if you are still feeding and housing your 35year old children! If you pamper them all their lives, when will they truly grow and when will you recoup your investments? Think about it! Support them but dont spoon-feed them! Know the difference! You can help a child secure a job, you cant help the child to do the job! Remember, stir the nest! Tosin Ayo, (The word bank).
