LET ME CLARIFY... Ice event Monday AM... JAN 15-16... and beyond My last post appears to have been mis read by many so let me say a few things. FIRST my main office PC is still down so I am using back up. I am simply dont have the time to get it fixed AND issue snow ice maps.. I may issue one this evening.. MAYBE. But I doubt it. FREEZING RAIN event pre dawn Monday over VA eastern WVA MD will not be nearly as bad as what it looked like a few days ago. Winds are now south or calm becoming south and all the short range data REALLY warm things up fast Monday after 7am. The ground on the other hand is ICE cold so any liquid will freeze. SECOND the BIG east coast winter storm threat for JAN 15-16.. ...ya know the the one I was skeptical of? -- see BLOG on web site. Some TV mets and others were playing up this threat. I gave SPECIFIC reasons based on science why I was not gung ho about this threat. IMAGE#1 is the euro map from last tuesday VALID for JAN15... BIG east coast winter storm threat right ? IMAGE #2 is TODAYS ( sunday euro). Opps... The point is ANOTHER east coast threat is going bub bye. You do not get big east coast winter storms in this sort of set up ( +AO +NAO +EPO severely negative QBO and the MJO in phase 6.) THIRD....over the past few weeks I have been saying with great detail and with SPECIFIC reasons why in my opinion this winter is in trouble and that most of the WINTER FORECASTS that have been calling for a BIG winter ...MINE included.... are in trouble. I have been ALONE in saying that. To most people that sort of call made in mid DEC is GUTSY call. Sure I could be 100% wrong but HOW is that cryptic? how is That FLIP FLOPPING ? how is that hedging? Remember I also went for a pretty good stormy winter. So this does NOT make me look good either. So how is this BRAGGING? Finally I COULD be 100% wrong. I could be 100% full of crap. BUT anyone coming on MY facebook page and accusing me of flip flopping is attacking ME personally. That charge means I really do not know what I am doing. Thats a character attack and it wonr be allowed.
