LET ME SET THE SCENE: 15 seconds left in #3 ranked Auburn vs #4 ranked Ole Miss game. Ole Miss is driving, down by 4. Hot Pass underneath and the All American WR breaks a tackle, high steps another, then reaches the goal line JUST as two defenders reverse his momentum (legally) and the ball comes out as it hovers over the goal line. Something looks bad with the WR. The way he crossed at full speed was not at all normal. Physics, maybe gravity have been defied. He lays in agony as the entire stadium is torn. Is he ok? Did he score to almost certainly lock a national championship playoff bid for Ole Miss, eliminating intra conference rival Auburn? For the Tigers the ponder the same thing but not in that order. Was it a fumble? Is the WR okay. I mean genuinely the opposition cared (on camera anyway). Over 90,000 people silent as the review goes on. The game will end on this call as the cart arrives to tote the WR, the hero off the field. Despite the call, No human being could have held on after a hit like that. It was one of the single greatest moments in sports I have ever witnessed. (this got deservingly wordy. Ill finish real quick in comments)
