LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING ABOUT JOSIE.. Josie doesnt get to leave the shelter often..and by that I mean never except if she has to go to the vet (our vet comes to us for general health) and that never happens because she is a really healthy pup. One day I got up and decided Josie and I were going to go sit at Petco and have her meet lots of people! It all started with a bath at the shelter, she was fantastic! Thats the thing about Josie..she really trusts you. After that we hopped in the van, which only has a drivers seat and the front seat, and Josie decided shed ride up front with me. She sat in the front seat perfectly. I could unroll her window almost all the way because she wasnt trying to go anywhere, she was so happy exactly where she was. When we left the shelter she was smiling, Im serious...smiling, and it broke my heart. This dog has worked so hard to come this far and she deserves these special moments daily with a family who loves her. I was so worried how Josie would be since she doesnt get out much and Petco is a really high traffic area with a lot going on. But she just sat there..next to her balloons..and watched as the people walked by, sometimes she got lucky and she would get a pat on the head. Everyone that took the time to stop and meet Josie loved her. The kids fed her treats and gave her some loving but eventually hours went by and it was time to go back. Constantly having the image of Josie smiling leaving the shelter made it near impossible to bring her back. Please dont let Josie come back again. She is finally in a home, she just needs a new one with no kitties. It shouldnt be this hard right? I can promise you one thing..there will come a point in time to whomever saves Josie that they will see her smile and the whole universe will fall into perspective.
