LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE Posted: 17 Jul 2013 04:43 PM PDT WINNING EACH DAY DEVOTIONAL 2Cor 2:14 And thanks be to God who ALWAYS causes us to triumph… LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE July 18, 2013 MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 74:20 Have respect to the covenant; For the dark places of the earth are full of the haunts of cruelty. There is so much wickedness and cruelty in our world. Parents are turning on their children and children on their parents. There are reports of one disaster after another daily and this has only succeeded in fostering feelings of fear and insecurity in people. All that has gone wrong in our world has been as a result of darkness. When the Bible speaks of darkness, it is not a reference to the absence of power but a reference to the manifestations of sin. Manifestations of darkness come in different forms some of which include wickedness, failure, delay, depression, lack, sickness, oppression, etc. Matt 5:14“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. As Christians, we have been ordained by God to bring light to every corner of the earth. When light steps in, darkness gives way. As the light of the earth, we are to go into politics, not to maintain the status quo but, to show everyone how God wants our nation run. We are to become lecturers not to oppress our students but to show them the light with love and understanding. We are to become businessmen and women not with a mind to exploit but with a mind to show and sow such values as integrity and dependability in the hearts of the people we come in contact with. As Christians, we are to take over every sphere and show the world how things should be done! As you go about your business today, ensure your light shines by first dispelling the darkness of ignorance before planting the light (the truth of God’s Word backed up by power) in people’s hearts. CONFESSION: As the light of the earth, I will never again be associated with mediocrity. I declare that I have victory over every manifestation of darkness. I’m taking over!
