LETTER FROM MY CONGRESSMAN Dear Mr. Smith: Thank you for contacting my office regarding sending monetary aid to Israel. I welcome the opportunity to respond to your concerns. Israel has been a long-time ally of the United States and the only democracy in the Middle East, it has been in our interest to support their sustainability as a free nation. Our countrys current economic woes, along with recent events in Libya and Egypt, call for the need to seek and support stabilized democracies in volatile regions. As governments change in Israels neighboring countries and the U.S. re-evaluates our aid and support, we must continue to develop allies in the region. and prevent powers like Iran from filling the void. Please be assured I will keep your views in mind as funding requests for foreign aid come before the House in the 113th Congress for a vote. Again, thank you for contacting me.
