LEWISVILLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL BOARD MEETING DATE: March 17, 2014 WHERE: Board Room of the William T. Bolin Administrative Center, 1565 W. Main St., Lewisville TIME: 7 p.m. ATTENTION LISD RESIDENTS: Suggest to those running for the School Board that having the election at the same time as the Republican Run-off or Primary elections and would save the taxpayer $$$s. Flower Mound will not be having a Town election in May. Per a school board member in Denton County, LISD can change the date of their election - There is only one, maybe 2 board members that want to move the elections to November because it would save a significant amount of money. $50,000 +. Donna Garner, One of the favorite tricks of the education establishment is to want to have a separate election (normally in May) because the numbers of people who vote are not so great then, and the school district personnel can easily outnumber the voters, thus controlling the outcome. By having an election in at the general election time, a much larger group of voters will vote which dilutes the power of the ed establishment to control the results.
