LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE In late May, the council voted to condemn land, a move spurred when it became obvious that OMNOVA was going to sell the land to a commercial interest. It was later revealed that a Taco Bell restaurant was going to be built on the property. SO, NO TACO BELL NO NEW JOBS,NO NEW TAX REVENUES Roddey said if there was ever a need to expand the government complex, that piece of land, which covers about an acre, would be the only direction the building could be expanded THEN WE FIND OUT THERE’S ENOUGH LAND BEHIND THE RODDEY BUILDING TO BUILD ANOTHER BUILDING!!! SO, WHY DID WE CONDEMN THAT LAND? Roddey said. The new EMS building will be constructed behind the government complex parking lot, though not on the piece of land being purchased from OMNOVA.The new building will have multiple ambulance bays, meeting rooms and office space for the coroner.
