LIBERIA - THE MATH Thank GOD that Liberia education curriculum - TopicsExpress

LIBERIA - THE MATH Thank GOD that Liberia education curriculum includes Math as one of the four most essential core subject required by all students from primary to university, regardless of your area of disciplines. If you agree with me, no one person can be good at math without knowing and obeying the simple rules of arithmetic and the law of negative and positive numbers. For example 4 - 9 = -5, -2 x -2 = 4, 2 x 2 = 4, -2 x 2 = -4. This is universally accepted and no one in any part of the world will have a different answer regardless the language in which it might be written. So is Liberia problem. If we cannot obey the common rules, laws and report the perpetrators ensuring that they do not go unpunished, Liberia will never move forward. No amount of donor funding can change Liberia, Liberia needs Liberian to change it. What do you think our children will do if we cannot obey those common laws, work sincerely, report and punish the perpetrators? Example: 1. No citizen of Liberia will purchase a land without a surveyor surveying his/her property thus indicating the landmarks and boundary. The proprietor will receive his/her land deed with the diagram and yet choose to construct his/her building on the streets/avenues of that property. 2. The streets are not place for garbage, yet Liberian will collect garbage from their homes and place them on the street. People will see them and don’t border to say a thing or call the police for measurable correction. 3. A minister or senator brother/family member commit a crime. He/she is arrested taken to prison and the next day the minister/senator in question bribe the authority and his/her family member is set free. To make it look fine, he or she is asked to change location but yet in the same county/country. 4. Police arrest a taxi driver for reckless driving, he/she comprise and risk the lives of passengers on board the vehicle for LD$20.00 – LD$50.00 5. An alien or foreign served as Program Manager, Finance Officer, Administrator, Warehouse Manager, Controller and even as cook in public offices, and for concessional entity without work permit and yet Labor Ministry has nothing to say or do. How do Liberian graduates get job? 6. An alien or foreign walk/fly without proper documentation into Liberia, Immigration Officer sees them, inspect their papers and still grant them entry for little or nothing. 7. A class room teacher ask your child to carry money so he/she can settle her grades. You don’t report this to the Parents, Teachers and Students Association, yet you prove that your child is doing well and the school is one of the best in your community. 8. A young Liberian apply for a job, he/she is qualified but yet you prefer taking someone who is not qualified base on sentiment. You recruit him/her and deny the qualified applicant. 9. A degree holder, qualified and fit for a specific job is deny because he/she is not part of some secret society or cults. 10. A Liberian tapper, worked for 25 – 30 years for US$3.50 per day. He/she bore many children in his/her struggle and is finally retired, asked to leave the plantation. Where has he/she to go knowing that even a dirt to dirt/mishit house in Liberia will cost nothing less than US$1000.00 to construct. What contribution can he/she made to Liberia and what can Liberia give him/her in return for being a good tax payer over the years? Remember all of the above should be reported and dealt with accordingly. Our children will learn after us. If we cannot report them, they will never be reported and addressed by our children and the unborn generation. There are many things happening in Liberia on a daily basis, but my greatest question is “ARE WE AFRAID OF THE LAW OR THE LAW IS AFRAID OF US LIBERIAN?” PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION. YOUR VIEW/INPUT WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF LIBERIA.
