LIFE & GODLINESS 2Peter 1: 3 (NKJV)…’As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and Godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue. 2Peter 1 : 3 (NLT)… ‘By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.” Brethren, With above scripture, I welcome you to DAY-4 of our fasting and prayers programme. The Almighty God will continually increase your strength in Jesus name. The passage above says His divine power has given to us all that pertains to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him. In other words, if we really truly know Him (God), then according to this scripture, by His divine power, we have everything that pertains to life and Godliness, we have everything that we need to live a Godly life. If that seems not to be the case, then it will only mean that something is perhaps fundamentally wrong with our knowledge of Him. It is possible to hear about somebody, without necessarily having a deep knowledge of Him or having a close relationship with the person. It is also possible to read about somebody and be able to say one or two things about the person (based on your book knowledge or head knowledge of him or her), without necessarily really knowing the person intimately. John 10:14….”I am the good Shepherd, I know my own sheep, and they know Me” John 10:27…”My sheep listen to my voice, I know them and they follow me” The question for you and me is that do you really know Him..? Are you satisfied or comfortable with your knowledge of Him…? – If you are not satisfied, what steps are you taking to know him deeper..? Do you understand his principles…?. Do you know him well enough as to desire to listen to him, and to follow him…?? The kind of knowledge of him that qualifies you or bestows on you all that pertains to life and Godliness goes beyond ‘book knowledge or head knowledge’. It is a personal, deep and intimate knowledge of him that makes the difference. Job 22: 21 …says…”Now acquaint yourself with him and be at peace, thereby good will come to you”. The word acquaint there depicts a knowledge that is both personal and thorough. – It goes beyond head knowledge. If all we know about God is just head knowledge of Him, it doesn’t help us at all. It is my prayer that the Almighty God will reveal Himself more and more to you and cause His goodness to show forth continuously in your life in Jesus name. God Bless You. PRAYER POINTS – DAY 4 (25/06/14) Thank God for his mercies and faithfulness. Psalm 86:15 Father, take me deeper and farther in you, reveal yourself more and more unto me in Jesus name. Father, let your goodness show forth in my life, and let it overshadow every unpleasant situation around me in Jesus name. Job 22:21 Father, all the days of my life, it shall be well with me, it shall be well with my family and all that concerns me in Jesus name. Isaiah 3:10. Pray that God will grant every good thing that your heart desires. Proverbs 10:24
