LIFE IN THE CAROLINAS: Anthony and I have been enjoying our new church. The name says it all, THE REFUGE. The people are genuinely friendly and have welcomed us with open arms. Anthony is just getting accustomed to being called HONEY so much. Its a southern thing. LOL... We are enjoying the modesties of NC. People riding bikes for comfort, not sport. Guys riding on the back of an old pickup truck just to get from A to B (who cares how u get there, just as long as u get there). Hills and trails amongst giant trees. And an original style what-a-burger with carports for ordering. Humongous plantation homes on massive pieces of land. And old southern homes with wrap around porches that only a grandma could appreciate. Oh the Carolina days..... Now I know why Andy Griffith loved it here. I must admit that no place is perfect. In my endeavor to find a workout facility in old downtown, the nearest bench press was on someones front porch. WHO DOES THAT?! Oh yea, we just passed a Beef Jerky Outlet too. Ewwwww!!!! All in all, its simplicity and beauty still outweighs those weird things that Im not quite use to yet. I am definitely learning to appreciate the simple pleasures in life. The things that we so often forget because we have unconsciously replaced them with superficial madness. Sometimes God will take us out of the fast paced hoopla of life, and put us in a place to sit still long enough to remember what matters. And it is in that place that we will find His peace and protection. HE IS OUR REFUGE Psalms 5:11
