LIFE ON OUR NUT FARM – LUNCH and SEAHAWKS with KENNY In the middle of several projects – yearning for completion, I called Kenny and said, “Let’s go to lunch!” Always eager to “go out” my Ninety-three year old father Kenny was ready when I arrived at his assisted living facility. We had our favorites, and should probably have something different to make this more interesting. Super thin pancakes that fill the plate, Kenny realized his breakfast was actually on a platter! His included, two eggs over easy, bacon, and he ordered a side of fresh Penn Cove Mussels. I had a short stack, with fresh strawberries, and bacon. We both enjoyed butter, Kenny much more than I, and loads of honey – both dripping over the cakes. The honey was eventually all over our hands, both dipping our napkins in the water glass. When the server asked if we wanted dessert, my father said this was dessert! I suppose they could have offered whipping cream for the pancakes. We said goodbye to friends and staff, heading back to my house. Michael had purchased Poinsettias, I ran in the house to pick them up. Kenny loved his variegated pink flowers and red for friends in his building. Back to his apartment, we watched on television, the Seattle Seahawks win another football game! It was a crystal-clear sunny day, here on Whidbey Island, and colder as the sunset. There are still utility lines down in our neighborhood, with large trees leaning on the wires, and throughout the county. The linemen worked all weekend and power restored to most. Kenny thanks you all for the “Lovely” Comments, Likes, and Views on our AM FB post, “MY SUNDAY FAVORITE - Kenny and M’Liss - CHRISTMAS BRUNCH – 2014!” Kenny is looking forward to Christmas, with all our family here! Have a Wonderful Week! Many Sunday Blessings. December 14, 2014
