LIHLAZO is what the Times of Swaziland has been turned to be. Whilst we are not surprised by the nrwspapers jundiced views were surprised its ability to lie with a straight face. Perhaps Martin Dlamini, the kings secretary and royal correspondant and the Times Managing Editor thought he was going to get the best story when he deployed one Senzo Dlamini to cover colour at the High Court yesterday. What did he get? Nosense. The lead story is fraught of lies and propaganda. And the Times decided used this shame as a lead story; SWAYOCA, PUDEMO BLOCKED FROM ENTERING HIGH COURT. Going through the story youre told that com Mphandlana came driving a brown van and many other untruths like referring to com Mlungisi Makhanya as vice ptesident. Senzo need to know that the police were ordered to block everyone, including immediate families of Thulani and Bheki and they did just that. The story insinuates that the blockage was a result of toy-toying and slogan chanting activists. Perhaps the good prince is not aware that the same activists were attending the case in numbers from day one. Though hes a senior reporter he failed to interview the cops because he wouldve heard that the decision to refuse people access to the court was out of fear that weve been so successful in mobilising our people around our comrades behind bars who are getting popular each passing day. Now who is this Senzo ndzini? This is the guy from Elangeni who goes about telling all who give him an ear that he is some prince, he failed at the Swazi Observer as a journalist before being employed by Themba Msibi who sacked him within two years. He tried to run as an MP under Lobamba three times already. In the newsroom the man doesnt tire to remind everyone he is a senior reporter yet he still fails to find a simple story let alone dig for fact. Now if a senior reporter can write such incorrigible lies what does it say about those below him? What does it say about the whole publication? Your guess is as good as mine.
