Nixon, Caught Ungaurded portrait made at reception line Old Labor Temple, Portland, Oregon 1966 Candid, off-guard and revealing portrait of Richard Nixon taken in 1966. This intimate portrayal came by chance at a reception held for Nixon after his making a speech at the old Portland Labor Temple. The pose is revealing of Nixons darker more guarded side as he caught me peering at him with my Nikon camera at some distance through the reception line. The direct eye contact was fleeting as he resumed his social obligations with those who had come to meet and greet him. Nixon was on the rebound politically and was preparing to campaign for the U.S. Presidency. The Nikon was equipped with a 105mm Nikkor lens, a personal favorite for available light razor sharp portrait photography. Exposures were made on Kodak TRI-X film. The original negatives have been kept in dark storage and are in pristine condition! This 16X20 Inch archival giclee print offers an exquisite range of tone and brilliancy faithfully capturing this important historical figure in American politics. The B&W negative from which this print is made is in pristine condition with little if any deterioration. Makes a strong impression with excellent scale ar this larger size.
