LITTLE FOXES Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vineyards for our vineyards are in blossom and have tender grapes. Songs of Solomon 2 vs. 15 Foxes are slightly smaller than a medium-size domestic dog and are opportunistic feeders that hunt live prey. Using a pouncing technique practiced from an early age, they are usually able to kill their prey quickly. Little foxes represent “seemingly small” issues, habits, characters and attitudes we overlook but which are capable of destroying our life. Your vineyard which is in blossom and has tender grapes could be your relationship/marriage; your career/business and your walk with God. In our relationship and marriages, small foxes could be taking your partner for granted; exhibiting pride and arrogance; lack of care, creating emotional and physical distance; cutting off communications; inflicting verbal and emotional abuse with cutting remarks, disrespect for one’s view, lack of attention, expressing bitterness and uncontrolled rage, even keeping malice. In your career and business, they could be slothfulness, lateness to work, truancy, low work ethic, shabby services, lack of team spirit, taking the shine of other’s work, being lazy and sloppy, in attentive to details, low response to instructions etc. In your personal work with God, they could be unfaithfulness, compromises, indulging in “small sins”, letting down your guard and discipline. Whatever the little foxes are, get rid of them because the fox, being an opportunistic feeder wants to spoil the vine of your marriage, career and walk with God. Your relationship, career and walk with God are in blossom and too precious to lose because you did not get rid of the little foxes.
