LOCALS to the Jefferson/St. Clair, Alabama area! Please share this information! I am sad to hear this. :( The Pell City (Alabama) Animal Shelter will be closing as of September 30, 2013. This is a TREMENDOUS loss to the animals of St. Clair county. Please post this message and encourage anyone looking for a pet to check out their animals as the ones not adopted or gotten out by rescues will unfortunately be euthanized. There are many small dogs (Chihuahuas, Doxies, etc.) and many beautiful cats as well. They are reducing their adoption fee to $50 in order to try and save as many as possible. Anyone that can help PLEASE contact the shelter ASAP. There is little more than a week left to save these animals.
