LOFTF Council Job Announcement: 2/2014 Job Title: Translator / Interpreter - Fulltime Reports to: Regional Programme Adviser Working Hours: 40-hours a week Description: In accordance with LOFTF strategic plans, he/she will be responsible for translating spoken or written statements from English to Arabic and vice versa. The job as Translator/ Interpreter includes the below tasks and responsibilities: • Facilitate effective communication between trainers and trainees during workshops. • Attend conferences, meetings, workshops and seminars and act as official translator to mediate discussion. • Convert written materials from English to Arabic and vise versa, such as contracts, articles, publications, web pages, etc. • Revise the language accuracy of any document related to LOFTF projects, such as proposals, contracts, and training material. • Accompany foreign visitors and facilitate communication during their stay. • Facilitate communication for people with limited English proficiency in office. Qualification: Education: University degree in related field, a Master Degree will be considered highly competitive. Work Experience: A minimum 5 years work experience in translation and interpreting, preferably in the human development and training field. Computer Skills: excellent computer literacy, with experience on Microsoft word, Excel. Other Skills: Adaptable to international environment workplace, and maintain adequate relationships with both Egyptians and foreign partners, ability to independently carry out his/her tasks, ability to travel inside Egypt on regular basis, and to be flexible to extra working hours and during holidays if necessarily.
