LOL...23-Year-Old Drunk Driver Arrested After Crashing Into A Law Firm Office At 2am... Fort Myers, FL - A suspected drunk driver was arrested after police say he slammed into a building early Wednesday morning and attempted to leave the scene. Police say a black pickup truck driven by 23-year-old Christopher Davis, of Port St. Lucie, slammed into a building near the intersection of Main Street and Hendry Street around 2 a.m. The building is used by Joe Gaeta Law firm, according to police. Upon arrival, a responding officer said he saw Davis jogging away from the scene - but Davis then began walking back toward the truck with his hands in the air. The responding officer then took him into custody. The officer spoke to witnesses about the incident who said Davis had been at a nearby bar before the crash. They said he began shouting with patrons of the bar when they wouldnt let him back in. They say he then drove off in the truck before he slammed into the building. Once in custody, Davis was asked to take a sobriety test, which he failed. His BAC was .226 and .240. The estimated cost of damage to the building was $44,000. Davis was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a crash without giving proper information (with damage). He is also accused of driving on a suspended license. Attorney Joseph Gaeta said he is thankful that no one was hurt. I got in my car and I was thinking I just hope there isnt a corpse in my office, said Gaeta. Ultimately its property... No injuries, thats the important thing. Gaeta said police called him around 2 am to inform him of the crash. I didnt think it was going to be as bad as it was, said Gaeta. I was thinking of making a drive thru, so I guess he helped us in that regard.
