LONG LIFE, LONG ROPE The good die quick. U must have heared that before. U must also have heared that the bad live better and longer. Unfortunate ironies of life! I wonder why. May be because naturally, God gives long ropes to sinners and not to the pious. Ive heared these truths peached by men of God. Ive also seen criminals given long years in prison for committing grievous crimes. So, while God gives long ropes to those who sin against Him, humans give long years to those who commit crimes against humanity. Once given, it is up to the recipient of that long tapering gift to put it to any use he chooses. Either he uses it as an instrument of liberation, or as a weapon of damnation. Please, Im not talking to u. Im talking to Charles McArthur Ghankay Taylor. Charles, u remember that some days back, I prophesied that u will repent in British prison. I also lamented that u will die, not from that 50 yrs imprisonment, but from other causes. Ur repentance, ur death, all depend on the use u may put those long years. Those yrs could be of librative use to u. They can also be damnative to ur soul. They will be librative if u use them as a period of self purgation, time to cleanse ur hands of the blood of innocent West Africans whom u know u killed. Blood of all those u thought stood between u and ur blood diamonds. U can also damn ur soul if u choose. U can eat ur heart out in vain with unceasing nostalgia, nostalgia about Liberia and the dirty politics u left behind. U can kill ur soul with vindictive regrets. Regret about pounds of flesh u will never have. Regrets about ur unfinished business, how much u loose out in the game of looting, stealing, killing and smuggling back home. U can also try out ur skills in another game u know well -prison breaking. U know u executed it perfectly in Boston in 1985, and they caught u in Calabar in 2006. U might succeed again this time in Britain. Only that if u try, u shall have given them a good reason, a good reason to substitute ur long years in prison with an endless years in Hell. It will only take few shots behind ur back. So, be wise, brother Taylor.
