*LONG MONDAY POST OF NOTHINGNESS ALERT* There was nowhere to get dressed at the gym this morning. I think that all the ladies who were NOT in the changing rooms anymore had chosen to make today: Let’sLeaveAllOurShitOutOntheBenchesDay. This, to me, is madness, as our gym very kindly offers FREE lockable lockers to make sure the changing room stays tidy, safe, hazard free and secure. You may be able to tell (as this is a LOOONG post) but I found it VERY frustrating and the incredible urge I had to move all the bags about was of epic proportions! I wanted to pick up that Nike bag and put in on top of the highest locker then swap the green bag onto the blue towel, and the bag on the blue towel to the other end of the bench. I then wanted to move the bag on the white towel and swap it with the grey rucksack on the right hand side, and stick every high heel in the trop right shower cubical. Even just swapping everyone’s right shoe with the next persons left shoe might have been enough to make them think twice about leaving all their stuff out.... There were at least 9-10 bags/shoes/towels and wash bags out taking up the benches, 1 person was in the shower (fiar enough, her stuff had to be out), one sat down in the middle of the clutter next to her bag, (who I kinda wanted to sit next to as at least I could ask her if she could please shuffle her stuff over without having to touch it myself), and 1 lady was drying her hair (again her stuff had to be out), the two ladies standing up and nattering both had their bags with them so where the owners of all the other bags?! If I was a thief I would have been in HEAVEN!!! No one would have known that the bag I was rifling through wasn’t my bag would they? As I am not a thief, and I was simply trying to get dry and dressed, I was in frustration hell! Gently trying to shuffle and slide bags that did not belong to me over to make a space for me to sit down so I could dry my feet and put my pants on was very stressful. I don’t want to be accused of touching someone’s stuff, it’s an unfair position to put me in. Does anyone else find this frustrating or know of the reason that women leave their stuff about taking up community areas? Am I missing something? Is it like saving a seat on the school bus or something? Have we not grown out of that? To anyone at my gym that is on my friends list, none of the bags were yours, I checked (hahahah – no I didn’t check, I promise, the lady in the back catsuit and face mask checked for me…) =D
