LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD GOAT SPOTTERS Rapid City Journal The Rocky Mountain Goat Alliance and the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks are looking for volunteers to help with a comprehensive survey of the Black Hills mountain goat population set for April 25-27. Last year, 22 mountain goats were transplanted from Utah to the Black Hills. RMGA executive director Peter Muennich proposed the project to help state officials determine survival rates of last years kids and also make a count of the total population. Volunteers can work as many of the three days as they are able and will be headquartered at the State Game Lodge in Custer State Park. The contact is Peter Muennich 406-551-5104.
