LOOKING FOR ACTORS... To join a company Im creating... a company of players... ideally you need to live in London as we will be meeting once a week... the company will have one initial project, to create, produce and perform Magic Happens as a stage show for children. The show wont be longer than an hour and a half so we will be able to get it prepared and ready for the stage in under a month. I have many ideas, and the opportunity to present our company and the show to the Clapham Omnibus Arts Centre. If they like it, we will be able to put the show on in their incredible venue (around 300 seats. Shows that do well there get noticed by the wider media). If the vibration is correct, we will create a show that will end up being wildly popular. When I close my eyes I see Andy Black, Incredibubble Lunah and Gregers Brinch doing musical direction. I see others too but I cant see their faces. There is a treasure chest is full of stories in the middle of the stage. Every time it opens, bright golden light shines out onto the faces of those that opened the chest (like the fabled pulp fiction briefcase - the audience dont see inside, they just see the light shining out)... the lighting changes, and a new story begins... I see the use of optical illusion. Large furniture... tiny people, faeries, a wandering wizard with a staff, monsters all sorts of things... and like the the tv show from my childhood lets pretend the bulk of the magic happens in the minds and hearts of the audience.... whilst appearing to be happening on the stage... thats part of the magic... Roles: Tanzy the glove, Finkymimp the Walking Stick/ Narrator Dinoceros, Boy/Narrator Ally Wangle, Daddy Humpergee, Narrator, Mr Flick the teacher, Horrible mother, child, Narrator, Unit 4 monster, Uncle J, Gluboo, Child/Narrator Dribbleman, Weird horrible mother, Child, Narrator Dave Solo, Child, Narrator Heather, Granny, Arthur, Nurse, Narrator Pepper, Trevor, Narrator The poem will be the core of each of the 9 pieces. And together we will write further dialogues to frame each piece within the context of a consistent storyline that flows like golden light from a magical treasure chest.
