LOUD NOISES AT NIGHT Many residents of Latrobe have been woken by loud banging noises throughout the last couple of nights. This has been sourced to the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources (DIER) contractors working along Railton Road at Blacksmiths Creek Bridge and Caroline Creek Bridge to drive piles for the new bridges. The noisy component of these works is to have been concluded by 10.00 pm each evening with this timing reiterated to the contractor. Due to the size of the machinery involved and to minimise the impact to motorists, these works have resulted in the road being closed from 7pm until 6am possibly until Friday, 2 May (weather dependent) and traffic diversion via Native Plains Road.
