LTO 7 Advisory: We have been receiving reports that some drug testing centers being operated in malls and other privately owned buildings have started to collect service charges from their clients in addition to the medical certificate fee of Php100. Please be informed that LTO 7 has no control over the operations of drug testing centers since these are private businesses under the regulation of the DOH. Except for the medical fee of Php100 as provided for under existing guidelines the LTO 7 has no power and authority to prohibit the collection of such fees by the different drug testing centers operating in our regions. Unless however our regional office shall receive directives and orders from our higher authorities we shall continue to accept the medical certificates issued by our accredited physicians coming from these concerned drug testing centers. Please be advised further that clients have the option to choose from the different LTO 7 accredited physicians not necessarily situated in malls and other privately owned buildings where fees are much lower for their convenience. Rest assured however that LTO 7 shall comply with whatever guidelines and procedures that we are mandated to follow in the interest of the public.
