~Labor Day~ According to the US Department of Labor, Labor Day - TopicsExpress

~Labor Day~ According to the US Department of Labor, Labor Day is a: “yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.” Yet even after Labor Day, the nation’s workforce goes back to their labor and work, because they must! Laboring and working because one must is what the Old Testament priests did day after day, and year after year, because their labor and work could never be finished and they could never rest. Yet according to Hebrews 10, Jesus Christ perfectly labored and worked, and when he had made one sacrifice for sins forever, He then sat down and rested from His labor and work. So then we read that now, “He [Christ] who has entered His rest has Himself also ceased from His [labors and] works as God did from His [on the 7th day of creation],” (Hebrews 4:10). So let us then celebrate Labor Day, but let us celebrate the labor and work of Christ that has been perfectly finished and completed, and, “Let us [also] therefore be diligent to enter that rest [of the Lord], lest anyone fall,” (Hebrews 4:11).
